Can teams game the system by running up the score?
DiamondRank limits the effect of score differential by capping it at 12 runs. Results also pass through verification and confidence safeguards.
Does a team need to be registered for our game against them to matter?
No. Registration controls public display. If the opponent has not yet established a rating, DiamondRank starts from the neutral 75.0 reference. Once enough game history exists, the system can use the opponent's established strength even if the profile is still unclaimed.
Does a one-sided result count?
Not immediately. It remains pending for 7 days. If the opponent has not submitted a conflicting result by then, the game can begin counting at reduced influence and will lower Rating Confidence until it is independently verified.
Does DiamondRank support softball?
Yes. DiamondRank supports youth baseball and softball. Baseball was the initial testing focus, and softball teams are supported now with the same ratings, verification, and Find Competition tools.
